World Sufi Spirit Festival to be held in Nagaur and Jodhpur in Rajasthan is the World`s most recognized Sufi Music Festival organized by the prestigious Mehrangarh Museum Trust, Jodhpur, a foundation headed by Maharaja Gaj Singhji, featuring incredibly rare talent from India and around the globe. It is a spiritual retreat in the guise of rivetting music. There is a lot to grasp and a lot to unlearn as well. Interestingly Sting fans will be surprised to know that the rockstar himself is a patron for this event and Alain Webber, a renowned festival director is directing the World Sufi Festival.
Art & Music since decades is known to evoke a deep feeling of spiritual fulfillment. Art for every Sufi poet is nothing but a deep rooted longing for the creator. The majestic architecture of the Ahhichatragarh and Mehrangarh Forts in India, will play host to the festival. Music, Dance and Poetry will all conspire to take you down the bylanes of eternity. The World Sufi Spirit Festival of Nagaur and Jodhpur, unique in India, will welcome the most beautiful of sacred traditions from the Orient, the East and Africa, while showing off the wealth of Rajasthan’s traditional heritage, a heritage at the crossroads of Indian, Afghan, Mughul, Arab and Persian civilizations, between Hinduism, Sufi & Islam. Prepare yourself for breathtaking performances by poets and singers from Iran, drums from the deepest regions of Africa, songs from the nomadic steppes of Mongolia, Jew’s harps from China, Sufi singing and dances from the Nile. Eternity will reverberate through art, just like it is meant to be.
